What is certified organic cotton?
"Certified Organic" means the cotton has been grown according to strict uniform standards that are verified by independent state or private organizations. Certification includes inspections of farm fields and processing facilities, detailed record keeping, and periodic testing of soil and water to ensure that growers and handlers are meeting the standards which have been set.
Is your packaging recycled?
Yes, we are using a paper board made from 100% recycled newspaper (35% post consumer minimum). We also chose local companies to do all of our designing, manufacturing and printing so the packaging would not need to be shipped.
Is the dye used in the fabric processing safe?
All dyes and pigments are low impact and must meet strict toxicity screening and biodegradability/eliminability standards. All dyes and textile processing adhere to GOTS certification. To read more about GOTS certified textiles, please go to www.global-standard.org.
Where are the fabrics made?
Roughly half of our fabrics come are made in the US, and the other half are imported from India. We were careful to choose suppliers that are conscious of the environment in their manufacturing process. All of the fabric from India is GOTS certified, which takes into account organic certification, fair trade, and toxin levels in dye.
Are ja*lu products manufactured in the US?
Yes! We have chosen to manufacture in the US because it is important to us to reduce our footprint by keeping operations as local as possible.
Are ja*lu products lead tested according to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act?
Ja*lu has taken the steps to third party certify all ja*lu products. All products are in compliance with current US Government standards under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. Product certifications can be obtained by emailing info@shopjalu.com.
Can I return items I have purchased from the ja*lu web site?
Yes. If your item has not been washed and is it’s original packaging, it may be returned within 30 days of purchase, please send an email to returns@shopjalu.com for further return instructions.
Can I return items purchased from retailers/etailers other than the ja*lu website?
If you purchased your item(s) from one of our retailers/etailers, please contact the retailer/etailer directly for their return policy and instructions. At this time, ja*lu cannot accept returns for items purchased from a retailer.
How do I care for my products?
Machine wash using cold water and tumble dry low. For best results, we recommend not using hot water or high heat. Since the ja*lu stroller blanket and little lu are made with organic cotton velour, the fabric can expand with dryer use. If you prefer the original shape, simply skip the dryer the next time you wash the blanket. Remove from washer, reshape and lay flat to dry.
How long will it take for my item to arrive?
All orders are shipped within 2 business days. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on product weight and size, and method of shipment. On the rare occasion of a backorder, the customer will be notified immediately.
